How To Make A Face Mask at Home

Your face is needs to be pampered!  Just think it is exposed to weather extremes, sunlight, grime and pollution from everyday living.  You need to nurture and nourish it.  I like to give myself a facial everyone morning when I get up, now this is not the 2 hour ritual you would get at the spa but I like to put on a face mask as I drink my herbal tea in the morning.  I would like to share with you a few of my favorite recipes.

How To Make A Face Mask at Home

Face Mask Recipe for Oily Skin

3 tbsp fine oatmeal

2 tbsp chopped parsley

juice of 1/2 a large grapefruit

Place the oatmeal and parsley in a bowl and than add the grapefruit.  Mix together.  Apply to your face for about 15 minutes and rinse off with tepid water.  Your face will feel refreshed.

Renewing Face Mask

1 thick slice pineapple

2 tbsp plain yogurt (can be coconut, almond or soy)

4 tbsp cornmeal

Puree the pineapple in a blender or food processor.  Put in a bowl and mix in the yogurt and cornmeal to make a thick paste.  Leave it for 5 minutes for the cornmeal to soften.    Spread over your face and leave it on for about 15 minutes and rinse off with tepid water.  Voila, radiant skin.

Moisturizing Face Mask

1 ripe avocado or banana

juice of 1/2 a lemon opt.

2 tsp of honey

Mash the banana or avocado and mix in the lemon juice and honey.  Spread over your face for abut 20 minutes.  You feel how much softer your skin is right away!  The lemon juice can be too strong if you have really sensitive skin, so do a small patch test first if you are unsure.
