Natural Remedies for Beautiful Hair

Natural Remedies for Hair

There is so much truth in the old cliche of ‘having a bad hair day’.  When your cut, style, touch, bounce or shimmer of your hair is off it affects how our morale like almost nothing else.  But just like our skin, our hair is a barometer of our general health; it becomes duller and lankier the more tired and poorly nourished we are.  It needs fresh air, fresh foods, sleep and low stress levels to maintain its shine.  It also depends on a healthy scalp; a good scalp massage activates hair follicles and reduces tension in our heads.

I want to  share with you some natural remedies, tried and tested by women for decades for beautiful results:

Nuts for Hair

Loosely grind a handful of rich candlenuts (kemiri nuts) until their oil starts to steep out.  Pan fry them briefly.  As they turn brown and their nutty aroma is released, smash them again.  Massage the nut and the oil into the scalp and hair and leave for 15 minutes.  Shampoo out, this will leave your hair super shiny.  Can’t find candlenuts, try macadamia nut oil!

Dry Hair Remedies

Massage coconut oil into your hair and leave on overnight with a cap or for a few hours.  Wash until your hair feels silky rather than oily.

Massage two grated carrots into damp or dry hair.  Put on a show cap and leave for about 20 minutes.

Squeeze half a lemon into 1 cup of water and use the mixture as a final rinse after shampooing

Thinning Hair Remedy

Put several sticks of celery through a juicer and massage the juice into your scalp.  Leave on for about 20 minutes.

For Dandruff

Mix a large handful of crushed mint leaves into your conditioner and leave on the hair for about 20 minutes.
