Minimizing Pores On Your Face!
Okay, it’s time for a confession. I have huge pores. Not just the kind that women complain about but no one ever sees, I mean gaping pores, just like my mom and her mom before her. I’ve always had pore-envy for my friends with seemingly pore-less (and flawless) skin.
I started my quest to minimize them in grade 7 so I’ve had time to find some great remedies along the way. I’ve also learned a lot about what causes pores to seem so large. Sometimes they just get clogged because of oily skin or a little dirt or makeup. To help my skin breath, I remove my makeup every night and use a toner. My favorite has apple cider vinegar, although I like those with witch hazel, too.
Enlarged pores are a bacteria-breeding ground, causing blackheads and acne. No thanks! With a proper skincare routine, even huge pores seem smaller AND you combat oily skin, blackheads, whiteheads, and acne.
Here are some of my tips for the best minimizer treatments for large pores:
– Wash your face at night and use a simple trick—it just takes baking soda! Use your normal cleanser to make a lather on your face and then add a baking soda paste. Mix about 2 tablespoons of baking soda together with a little water. Massage it on your face for about 60 seconds and rinse. Do this every night.
– Do you know that tomatoes have natural skin-toning properties? Fresh tomato juice (not that canned stuff) is all you need! Apply some to your face with a cotton ball, leave it on for about 20 minutes, and, voila, you’re on your way to smaller pores. If you can, add some sandalwood powder to the juice. It helps control the oil by reducing the amount of oil your skin produces, helping to keep those pores clear.
– Another one of my favorites is a homemade mashed papaya mask. All you have to do is mash and apply! This one requires that you stay still and lie flat to avoid having the mash slide right off your face. Perfect for relaxing and listening to some music on you mp3 player.
– One last little trick is pineapple. Just buy a whole one, cut off a slice (be careful of the core), and rub that all over you face. It’s great for your pores and helps to get rid of any dead skin cells. It gives you a radiant glow and helps skin cell regeneration!
All of these natural beauty tricks have helped me get over my pore-envy and minimize my pores. You don’t need big bucks and fancy creams, just the fruit aisle! Let me know how they work for you.
