How To Make Your Own Face Moisturizer

how to make face cream

Use this rich, creamy textured, yellow moisture cream for dry or normal skin types.  It is beautiful on your face and totally chemical free.  You will literally glow!

Vitamin-Enriched Moisturizer Recipe

1 tsp dried or 1 tbsp fresh chopped chamomile, rosemary or parsley or rosewater

2/3 cup water

2 tbsp lanolin

2 tbsp beeswax

2 tbsp wheat germ oil

1/3 cup almond, avocado or olive oil

one 250 iu capsule vitamin E

one 250 iu capsule vitamin A

3 drops essential oil (rose, lavender or geranium) optional

Place the herb and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.  cover and simmer for five minutes.  Leave to cool, then strain off the decoction.

Place the lanolin and beeswax in the top of a double boiler or in a bowl set in a saucepan of water.  Melt gently on a low heat.

Gradually beat in the oils.

Remove entirely from the heat and beat in 2 tablespoons of the herbal decoction or rosewater.

Pierce the vitamin capsules and squeeze the contents into the cream.  Beat well, add the essential oil, if using.

Cool, stirring frequently

Transfer the cream to a sterilized pot or jar.  Cover when completely cold.  Use within 2 months.

I know it sounds like a lot of ingredients but once you have them you will use them again and again.  You can find these at most health food stores.

A fun weekend project to make your own face cream moisturizer :)

  1. I cannot buy lanolin or wheat germ oil in my country. Can I leave them from the mixture? Any advice for combination skin?
    Thank you so much!

    1. Hi Rudy,

Where are you from? Maybe I can see what a good substitute you may have where you are. Do you tend to break out?
