What is skin detox? Why do you need it for great skin?

Beyonce does it. Gwyneth Paltrow does it. Even Anne Hathaway does it. What are these celebrities doing as part of their beauty regimen?

Many celebrities detox their bodies to promote beautiful skin & bodies. Why? Who wants to be caught with ugly blackheads or pimples, especially if your face has to be magnified large enough to fill up a movie screen? But detox isn’t just for the vain. Besides improving your image or raising your score on the beauty meter, detox is known to have many health benefits.
Ridding our body of excess toxins and impurities is important for maintaining beautiful skin as well as rejuvenating our bodies  It’s nothing new. Our skin detoxifies or cleanses naturally when we sweat, that’s why working out and infrared saunas are good beauty tools.

Skin may cleanse and eliminate toxins through oil glands but often times this will become acne. So what is the best way to detox or cleanse our bodies?
Diet is the fastest way to change your skin’s appearance.  Drinking Ionized water helps to flush out toxins and prevent blemishes or rashes. It also helps to avoid excess intake of red meat, refined foods, sugary foods, fried foods and trans-fat (hydrogenated oils, margarine or shortening).

      I know but there are so many healthy foods you can make that taste just as good & are good for your skin. Stay tuned for some great recipes coming up. Treat yourself to indulgent foods, just remember moderation is key!
